R.I.P.: “Uncle Lionel” Batiste

New Orleans musician “Uncle Lionel” Batiste died Sunday July 8, 2012 in New Orleans. He was 81.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but the New Orleans Multicultural Tourism Network, http://www.soulofneworleans.com, said it will donate a portion of the Tremé 200 bicentennial poster sales to Uncle Lionel’s medical costs and funeral.

NOMTN said it will donate $10 of every Tremé 200 poster sold to aid with the late Uncle Lionel’s medical costs, family expenses and his funeral. MORE HERE
