Village Music: Last of the Great Record Stores

Filmmaker Gillian Grisman was living in New York and had just arrived home to Mill Valley for Christmas when she saw the doomsday flyer announcing that Village Music would be closing.

She snatched the paper from the dining table and drove directly to the independent record store to confront its cranky owner John Goddard, the crypt keeper of his own rock and roots museum. Her first question was, "When?" His answer: "Nine months." Her second question was, "Who is making the film?" His answer: "You are." MORE HERE
