Paul Simon is a family friend of the 27-year-old teacher from Newtown, Connecticut, who was fatally wounded where Adam Lanza went on a killing spree.
The musician played 'The Sound Of Silence', Victoria Soto's favorite song at the service at Lordship Community Church in Stratford on Wednesday (December 19, 2012).
Simon is said to have known the Soto family through his sister-in-law, who's a nurse, and the singer received no introduction before performing at the service.
When Simon finished the 1966 Simon and Garfunkel classic there was no applause, but was instead a 'hushed silence'. MORE HERE
