Leela James' Soul In San Francisco

Singer Leela James brings her retro-soul sound to Yoshi's in San Francisco on Friday and Saturday February 1 & 2, 2013.

Although her engagement is being advertised by the club as "Leela James: In the Spirit of Etta," the singer will be mixing songs from her current CD with some from her three earlier ones.

Unlike Beyonce, who replicated Etta James' vocal style and arrangements in the motion picture "Cadillac Records," Leela James placed her distinctive bare-boned stamp on the nine tunes associated with the late soul diva that appear on the tribute CD.  MORE HERE
