In November and December (2012), the group hailed way back in 1969 as “the
world’s greatest rock and roll band” celebrated its 50th anniversary
with arena concerts in London, New York and Newark, New Jersey.
Now, anticipation is building for a
2013 tour that — if a quickly deleted December 14, 2012 post on the band’s own
Rolling Stones app was correct — will include a Coachella show on April
12, 2013. That just happens to be the opening day of the 2013 edition of the
festival, which usually announces its lineups in early January.
With or without a Coachella stop, a 51st anniversary trek seems
increasingly likely. As Stones guitarist Keith Richards told an interviewer in
October (2012), when the band was rehearsing for its London and East Coast
