With Coachella's expansion to two weeks last year, bands performing at the fest had a brick of spare time on their hands. Many chose to spend it playing officially sanctioned side-gigs -- to the benefit of their performance chops and those fans shut out of buying festival tickets.
Yesterday (Monday February 25, 2013), Goldenvoice announced that the run-up to Coachella, the interim week and time right afterward will be busy indeed. Across SoCal, many of the marquee artists will play warmup and wind-down gigs in club- and theater-level venues.
