Yoko Ono has entered America’s gun control debate by tweeting a provocative image of John Lennon’s bloodstained glasses alongside messages calling for peace.
The photograph of the glasses the Beatle was wearing when he was shot dead on 8 Dec 1980 carries a message reminding people that, since then, more than a million people have been killed by guns in the USA.
She sent the image out four times in quick succession yesterday (Wednesday March 20, 2013), on the 44th anniversary of their marriage. The image was retweeted more than 8,000 times.
The artist and peace activist, 80, exclaimed that guns were turning the country into a warzone. MORE HERE
