Natalie Maines Mother Masterpiece

For a woman whose mouth has inspired boycotts and death threats, Natalie Maines has been awfully quiet of late. Seven years have passed since the singer put out any music with the group she fronts: the Dixie Chicks.

A full 10 years have passed since “the incident” in England. You know, the one in which Maines critiqued George W. Bush’s war in Iraq and wound up getting treated like an international terrorist for doing so.



Considering the subsequent shunning of the Chicks on country radio, it’s no surprise that, on Maines’ very first solo CD, she shunned country right back. Luckily, closing that door opened an even richer one. MORE HERE
