R.I.P.: Joey Covington

Drummer Joey Covington died in a car crash in Palm Springs, California on Tuesday June 4, 2013. He was 67 years old.

Covington paid his dues with several Bay Area bands in the 1970s -- first drumming for Pacific Gas & Electric, known for the 1970 hit “Are You Ready?," followed by Jefferson Airplane and then side project Hot Tuna, which featured Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady. MORE HERE
