Sharon Jones has been diagnosed with cancer. The 57-year-old soul singer has cancelled a tour and postponed the release of her new album, Give the People What They Want, so that she can undergo immediate surgery.
Jones and her band, the Dap-Kings, were due to release their fifth album on August 6, 2013. They had already played several promo gigs and had scheduled summer concerts in the US, Canada and the Netherlands. source
