Haynes — who plays guitar with The Allman Brothers Band, fronts jam band Gov’t Mule and tours with Phil Lesh and Friends and sometimes The Dead — is even busier than usual this summer.
That’s because he’s got this little side project going whereby, at the request of the Jerry Garcia Estate, he’s been sifting through decades of the late guitarist and songwriter’s music, choosing the perfect songs.
On June 22, 2013, Warren was joined by the Boston Pops at the bucolic Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts (video above).
The Boston Pops is one of the eight orchestras around the country presenting Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration. The concerts pair symphonies with guitarist and singer Warren Haynes and a band he handpicked for these shows spotlighting Garcia’s work. MORE HERE & HERE
