John Williams Lifetime Achievement In Boston

An artist who composed the scores behind some of Hollywood's blockbuster movies will be getting a lifetime achievement award from a Massachusetts museum.

Composer John Williams will be recognized by living history museum Old Sturbridge Village and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns at an August 15, 2013 dinner in his honor.

Museum officials say Williams composed the music for more than 100 films, including "Jaws," and the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" movies.

The annual honor goes to someone who's made an impact on the arts through history-related projects.
Burns made his first film about the museum while in college and credits that effort with sparking his interest in history.

Williams has served as Boston Pops Orchestra music director, and has won multiple Academy Awards and Grammy Awards. MORE HERE
