Peru Was Punk Before You Were Punk

About a year ago, a story was making waves around the globe about how punk music had actually been created in the 1960s by a band in Lima Peru called Los Saicos. Now, Vice magazine’s video branch, Noisey, has made a short documentary about the group and the beginning of this music genres. MORE HERE

For the record, in 2011 Héctor Chávez released a film he directed entitled Saicomania, a documentary feature film that aims to restore the place in history of Los Saicos as the authentic punk rock pioneers. That trailer is HERE and the DVD is available HERE
