It took filmmaker Bob Sarles almost 25 years to finish his first film. He made plenty of other films in the meantime, but "Sweet Blues," his long-gestated documentary on guitarist Mike Bloomfield, will finally have its theatrical debut October 11, 2013 at the Mill Valley Film Festival - an occasion to be celebrated also by a tribute concert that night featuring some of Bloomfield's longtime collaborators. The film will be followed by a tribute concert a short walk away from the movie house at the Sweetwater Music Hall.
The film will be available later this year as a DVD in the Mike Bloomfield box set being produced by Al Kooper for Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music. MORE HERE
