When the Eagles do it, they do it big. The legendary rock band, with the help of promotional company Pop2Life, has broken a world record... for the world's largest record.
A massive vinyl recreation of the Eagles' 1977 album Hotel California has been produced to help promote the group's six night residency at Los Angeles' The Forum.
The massive record has a 5.7-acre surface area, with a 407-foot diameter. Hotel California clocks in at 25 tons of material with 5000 nuts and bolts, 5280 feet of aluminum truss and 15,000 LED lights. The entire project took one month to plan and two weeks to execute, with a total of 20,000 man-hours.
The record will easily be visible from one mile in the air, allowing all fliers from Los Angeles' LAX to see the visual from the sky. source
