Dolly Parton's New Ride

Dollywood opened its new Firechaser Express family coaster on Friday March 21, 2014, with a ceremony featuring Dolly Parton (above).

"It’s a wonderful ride and it’s tailor-made for families so the little kids can ride along with their parents and their little brothers and sisters,” Parton explained on the ‘Today’ show. “And it’s got one element that’s a little different than most coasters. It goes forward, and then halfway through, it goes backwards.”

The ride, which is set in the  1940s, is part of the $300 million expansion the 69-year-old is planning over the next 10 years in the park. In addition to new rides, the expansion will include a resort that has a spa, swimming pool, and shuttle to and from the park. MORE HERE & HERE
